A series of mindfulness animations inspired by Black culture.
"Although the chronic condition of stress can have negative side effects on all persons, the unique psycho-social and contextual factors, specifically the common and pervasive exposure to racism and discrimination, can create an additional daily stressor for African Americans." (APA)
Just a few minutes of mindful breathing exercises have been shown to help reduce stress and anxiety.
I was first introduced to breathing animations by a therapist when I was experiencing anxiety myself. I loved the practicality of them and as a motion designer wanted to explore creating them with artistic intention and with Black culture as the guiding visual theme.
